Seed Priming with Bacillus megaterium in Maize Production
Evaluated the effect of Bacillus megaterium seed priming on maize growth, yield attributes, and overall crop performance through a field experiment.
Methodology
Conducted a randomized field experiment with different seed-priming treatments and replications. Plant growth and yield attributes—including cob weight, cob length, cob diameter, kernel number, and husk weight—were recorded and analyzed using RCBD-based statistical methods.
Outcomes & Impact
Identified differences in maize yield performance among seed-priming treatments, with PFn showing the strongest overall performance for cob weight, while treatment responses varied across individual yield attributes. The project strengthened practical skills in biofertilizer application, field experimentation, agronomic data collection, and statistical analysis.
